Serengeti is a breed of domestic cat, obtained as a result of the gradual crossing of the Bengal, Oriental shorthair tabby, Abyssinian and European shorthair. The animal was introduced in 1994 by its breeder, Karen Southman. Southman's work aimed to create a breed of domestic pet, phenotypically as close as possible to servals living in Africa.
